Welcome to the Brandywine Hundred Rotary Club! I am honored to serve as president for the coming year and hope for the continued positive contribution to our community. It is with the "Service above Self" attitude that enables this small club to accomplish so much.
Some of our local projects include: "back to school supplies" for the Sunday Breakfast Mission, Shoeboxes for Soldiers, Dictionaries for 3rd Graders, Food Drive, Foster Grandparents, Ronald McDonald House Dinner, Concord High School Interact Scholarship, Highway clean-up, Salvation Army bell ringing. Our international projects include things such as providing support for: Well drilling in Ghana and a Women's Clinic in India. This club is a part of a vast global network of volunteers who pool their resources into a worldwide effort that has saved millions of lives in the fight against hunger, illiteracy, lack of clean water, and disease.
The annual Rotary theme is "Building Communities Bridging Continents". It serves as a mission statement for this coming year. With this spirit in mind, I have confidence that this Club will move ahead with ambition and build on this idea of local and international service.
Please feel free to visit our club. I would be happy to talk to you about Rotary and how much I enjoy the meetings. Consider the Brandywine Hundred Rotary as your way to give back to the community while enjoying the fun, fellowship, and satisfaction that you are making a difference.
Thanks for your service,
Ron Meick President 2010-2011
